Didn’t have much of a day considering that I woke up at 3 in the afternoon. Let’s just hope I don’t get into a habit of doing that before college LOL. My day didn’t consist of much but loafing around and burning time into the suits premiere came on! I just ended up watching movies the whole day from The Amazing Spiderman to Ted. I ended up grabbing some 50% sushi and Ogisan as well as some Yogurtland before heading home to watch Suits. It’s been too long since the previous season so it was difficult to understand the connections that connected the seasons, but I’m glad I now have something to look forward to every week! Now I am working on designing a flier for my brother! Thanks for reading.

Woke up in the afternoon and was really bored so I decided to go to IKEA to get some meatballs and check out some furnishing for college. IKEA wasn’t busy at all so I got to freely explore and play around all the exhibits wheee. I ended up going through the whole showcase on a rolling chair because the employees didn’t care at all HAHA. I took some pictures of some stuff that I liked for my dorm and possible designs for my hopefully a future apartment! For lunch/dinner I got some meatballs and ligonberry drink which were both delish + cheap! I went to the lower level after eating and got some miscellaneous items like a deer cup and some lights for my room! After checking out, I got some elderberry drink before heading home. I swear all the food at IKEA is awesome. When I got home my mom made me some dinner and I then chilled for the rest of the night! Thanks for reading!

A very big loaf day in which I slept, I played games, and watched T.V. LOL. The day was so boring I rarely recall anything memorable; thus no picture. Thanks for reading HAHA.

I got to finally sleep in today and wake up to nothing LOL. I loafed around for most of the afternoon but after many days of eating inadequate dorm food I went to get some Jamba Juice and Rubios! My food splurge continued as I wanted to go to CREAM for ice cream sandwiches; however the line was HUGE so I ended up going to the macaron place next door (Chantal Guillon) where I got some macarons. While eating one of the macarons I found a hair and I brought it up to the cashier in which she alerted the owner. The owner then cleared it and reassured me it wasn’t a hair (it was a fiber or something) and apologized to me and got me another set of macarons YEE. We ended up having a conversation and Matthew (his name) turned out to be a cool guy. He even ended up giving me some of his high quality tea LOL. After that I walked around Palo Alto for a bit before heading home and calling it a night.
June 9th, 2013 - June 12th, 2013 (UMich Orientation)
I would like to apologize again for posting all these post so late, I got really lazy after I got back from orientation but please bear with me!
June 9th: I woke up relatively early in order to make it to the SJC airport on time for my flight to Michigan. My flight connected to LAX first where I got food at Lemonade. My flight to Michigan was SUPER long and it was even worse with a crying baby a row away from me; however, luckily I didn’t get much sleep the night before so I just plugged my earphones in and turned up my music and KO'ed. I got to the Detroit airport at around 9 PM and took a cab to where I would be staying for orientation. The dorm I was assigned was pretty small and much smaller than what I would be staying in in the fall. When I settled into my dorm, my orientation roommate had already left his stuff there and went out. Since I wasn’t since I slept so much on the plane, I went out to explore for a bit and ended up grabbing some snacks at 7/11. When I came back, my orientation roommate Danny came to greet me. He was really nice and super easy to talk to! We stayed up for awhile talking about our lives and then he headed to bed. I had a hard time sleeping because I had slept so much on the plane, plus I was in a time zone 3 hours ahead of Cali! I managed to get 3 hours of sleep before orientation the next morning.
June 10th: Woke up at around 6:45 to shower and get some breakfast at the dining hall; Danny was still asleep so I let him be LOL. The only food at the dining I hall I liked was the breakfast because they always had fresh orange juice, fruit, and hash browns. I sat with a random group of people that I didn’t happen to befriend haha sigh. After breakfast we met our orientation leaders and traveled to a lecture hall where we got the 101 about UMich, financial aid, security, etc. I sat with Danny and his friends during this time until we split into groups for a extensive campus tour. During the tour I met a fellow asian named Andrew who was also in the same Art & Design program as I which was kinda comforting LOL. We chilled through the campus tour and then had lunch which was meh. After lunch we took placement tests. I ended up taking the chem and chinese placement test even though I figured out later I didn’t have to because A&D (Art & Design) will never have to take those classes… thank god. After testing we had an extremely early dinner and then took the MBus to watch a theater performance. The performance was pretty funny and gave us tips about college at the same time! Following the performance, I went to the MUnion with my roomie and we played pool for awhile and then went out to go eat and then called it a night! Oh I forgot to mention, the weather was HELLA humid and hot… made it so difficult to sleep especially with a dorm with no A/C.
June 11th: Woke up at the same time to shower and have breakfast. After breakfast we went to one of the many UMich libraries to learn about the various resources we could use. Following the multiple presentations, the A&D people headed up to North Campus to have lunch there and then meet our advisers. Andrew and I had the same adviser Brian who was a really nice black dude who told us that he knew nothing about art… it was great LOL. He had a very chill personality and was able to answer all of our questions! Brian took us on a tour of the A&D facility which was super nice and then the “DUDE” library where we got to see all the cool resources the designer can use from high quality studio mixing tables to touch tablet computers! After the tour we took the MBus back to Central Campus for dinner. Dinner was meh, so I only ate a bit and then planned out my schedule/classes. I planned out three schedules before I met with my peer adviser in which she helped me “backpack” them and advise me on professors. Regardless however, I will end up taking 17 credits and have a morning class twice a week ):. Peer advising took awhile and after that Andrew and a couple of other people went to explore Ann Arbor. We got back pretty late; however, my roomie was still up so I just hung out with my roomie and helped him sort out his classes before calling it a night.
June 12th: Woke up at the usual time to shower and eat breakfast. I met up with Andrew and a couple of other A&D students and headed up to North Campus to meet with our advisers and register for classes. I would have got my first choice schedule except there ended up being a financial hold on my account so I had to call my mom to pay it before registering for classes and by the time she had paid it, one of my classes had been filled so I resorted to my second schedule which involves night classes, sigh. Since Andrew was a Michigan local he went home after his registration while I went back to my dorm and took a fat nap LOL. I woke up a couple hours later and my roomie and I headed to get some food and get some Michigan apparel before we packed our bags and parted ways. I took a private bus back to the airport and ended up killing time on my mom’s iPad (thank god she gave it to me) while waiting for my flight. I took a flight from Detroit to Salt Lake City and finally back to San Jose. My mom picked me up and we got dinner and then headed back home in which I unpacked and called it a night. Thanks for reading if you have gotten this far LOL. Sorry again for the delayed post.

July 8th, 2013
I woke up pretty early and found that my parents were already out of the house. So I got ready and went to get lunch at Benihana’s with the Deer Herd; however, I told my Mom I was running errands LOL. We met up at school and ended up cramming all of us into Brian’s Prius while Arthur met us there when he got off for his lunch break from work. There wasn’t any wait when we arrived so we got to eat right away! Our chef’s name was Yuki and although he wasn’t as pro as all the other Benihana chef’s, he was really funny and cooked us good food! It was the last Deer outing before Paul moves to Seattle so it was kind of sad, but a good way to end. Unfortunately since I was grounded I couldn’t spend the rest of the day with the Herd since they had plans to watch a movie and chill at Eric’s, so I had to say my final good bye to Paul after lunch ): I ended up dropping the bank to cash in a check before going home and packing for UMich Orientation. I am pretty stoked for orientation except I don’t really know what to expect! After packing, I loafed around for a bit until my Mom took me out to dinner at this Chinese restaurant in Cupertino. She then dragged me to do errands with her before we headed home and called it a night. My flight leaves early tomorrow and I won’t be bringing my laptop so expect more late posts! SORRY. Thanks for reading!

Since I am grounded because of my 4th of July shenanigans I didn’t have much of a day. My mom woke me up in the afternoon to make me work at the receptionist desk for her acupuncture business in which I just sat on the computer watching youtube and listening the Magna Carta Holy Grail. I probably sat there for 4 hours being unproductive and then headed home when my shift was over. Originally Nessa was suppose to come over before she left to Berkeley, but she had to leave early while I was working so I didn’t get to see her ): I went home and continued to loaf. My step-dad brought home Arby’s for dinner which was my only meal of the day. My day was so boring that I didn’t even have a picture to take for you all to see; thus no picture today… sorry! Thanks for reading!

My dad called me early in the morning to wake me up and get ready to go searching for my car again. I got ready and as I headed out the door my mom lectured me hard about how stupid I was and throughout the whole car ride my dad did so as well LOL. I got to admit I was pretty stupid though. The night before I had marked 6 parking garages in the area that looked very familiar to where I parked. When we got to SF I checked all of them…. no luck. I was about to breakdown at that point haha, but as I was describing the parking garage to one of the parking ushers, a passing pedestrian overheard and pointed to the direction he parked which looked very similar to what I had described. To my luck, IT WAS THERE. I gave my car a big hug! I only had to pay $60 bucks which was a lot less then I thought I would have to pay and headed home. My dad took me out to lunch at a pho place near my house and continued to lecture me as we ate. He then dropped me off back home in which I slept some more. As expected, I am grounded until my UMich orientation so for the rest of the day I stayed at home and loafed around. When my parents got home they didn’t seem as mad anymore (probably because I finally found my car), but my mom guilt tripped me of how worried she was and etc. Thanks for reading!

Woke up in the early afternoon and Amanda’s grandma ended up making us dumplings for lunch. After lunch we got ready and headed out in search for my car. We took the subway back into town and searched an area where I thought I parked my car, but with no luck. So instead of walking everywhere in search of my car, we ended up going to the Apple store in Union Square to use Google Maps + street view to see if any of the parking garages looked familiar; plus, I could charge my phone too LOL. We looked and called a bunch of places throughout the whole afternoon in the Apple store and even called the towing company to see if my car got towed, but still no luck. I was stressing out so bad and called it a day when it started getting dark and my car was still no where to be found. Instead of continuing to look for my car for the rest of the night we went to Tpumps to get some kickass PMT before my dad picked us up and drove us home. I was prepared to get lectured hard by my mom and step-dad when I arrived home, but they were asleep. I couldn’t fall asleep knowing my car was lost so I spent pretty much the whole night looking through every street in San Francisco on Google Maps till I found some familiar spots and marked some parking spots close to that area to return to tomorrow with my Dad. Thanks for reading.

I’m sorry I haven’t been blogging recently, but it has been a very CRAZY past few days. For the 4th of July I woke up really early at around 8 in the morning and got ready (red, white & blue outfit) and headed to my cousin’s house. On my Dad’s side it has been a 4th of July tradition to go to Henry Coe State Park and have our annual family BBQ with the fam bam. There was a lot of traffic getting to the park, but when we got there we sat in the same camp spot we have always sat in and it brought back a lot of great memories. The food was great as always with my aunt’s signature potato salad, my cousin Kevin’s well-marinated chicken, and my dad’s steak! After eating a lot of food I went hiking with my cousin’s. You would think that after the many years eating and hiking here I would have explored everything, but there was always something new everytime I came. We found a new spot on the creek for my cousin’s dog to play in and an awesome bridge. After hiking my cousin Karen (the one that just got married) bought us ice cream and we headed home shortly after. With both my cousin’s having separate July 4th plans, that left me with none! I ended up chilling with Amanda who also didn’t have plans. We ended up flipping a coin whether we were going to watch fireworks in the area or go to SF and it ended up landing on the SF side LOL (#yolo). I drove to SF and it took FOREVER to find parking since everyone was there watching the fireworks. We ended up parking far away and walking for awhile and although we didn’t get front row seats, we managed to catch a good amount of the fireworks! We finally made it to Ghirardelli Square where there were a lot of drunk people HAHA. After dipping our feet on the waterfront and chilling for a bit we headed back. To my demise however, I ended up losing the parking ticket to our parking garage and so while we were walking we had no idea which parking garage out of the 100 in SF we parked in. Oh and my phone ended up running out of battery too. It was dark, and kinda scary, so we ended up taking a cab to Amanda’s SF house and staying there for the night hoping to find it in the morning. Thanks for reading!

Woke up at 3 in the afternoon with nothing to do, plus it was too hot to do any outdoor activities so I stayed indoors with the AC. My afternoon was pretty potato. I watched TV, played games, and went on the computer as always. However when my mom came home she asked me to help make dinner since I didn’t do anything today. I helped her wrap dumplings in which she steamed and we had for dinner along with some Tri-tip. After dinner I washed the dishes and got really bored so I decided to explore my backyard since I’ve never really been in it. I found some pretty cool stuff like my where my mom hides all her wine bottle corkscrews haha. It was still hot outside though, so I went back inside and continued loafing and I still am currently loafing. Sigh, haha thanks for reading!

July 2nd, 2013
Probably the most uneventful day of summer yet! Probably partially because I woke up at 2:30 in the afternoon and didn’t really do anything except eat and sit at the computer haha. At least my house has AC so I don’t have to worry about getting cooked by the outdoor weather! But yeah, pretty much for most of the day I loafed around, played games, and searched for new music. Oh! and did some more design stuff for my brother as well. My mom came back from work and took me out to dinner at this Chinese restaurant which specialized in dumplings, but I think that was the only thing I did outside of home today… eat HAHA. When I got home, I loafed around more and I am currently still loafing. Hopefully tomorrow will be more interesting. Thanks for reading!

Woke up at 2 in the afternoon from a call from my dad to remind me to drive my car in order to keep the car battery alive since my battery was just recharged yesterday. I showered and drove to car to the hair salon to get a hair cut. Ever since I was a little kid, the same hair stylist has cut my hair. I waited for like an hour since she was busy. After I got my haircut I went to go get In-n-Out with Amanda. I had a free In-n-Out meal coupon from Grad Night so I used that to get a full meal (Double-Double animal style, fries, and large Neapolitan shake)! Someone “accidentally” took Amanda’s order so I had to wait to her order was remade before I could finally eat my first meal of the day haha. After the meal, I sent her home and went home to shower (again) off the hair flakes from my haircut. Following that, I went out again to pick-up Kiki and we headed to Jamba Juice! We sat around Coffee Society for awhile talking & catching up before we decided to walk around Memorial Park and then Homestead bridge. After a couple hours of catching up and walking around I sent her home and went home as well. At home I did some flier designs for my brother before calling it a night. Thanks for reading.

Didn’t get much sleep at Derek’s since it would be the last time in awhile the Deer Herd would hang out as a group (Derek going to Taiwan and Paul moving back to Seattle). It was a fun night though with good talks (with BK) and good times with everyone. I woke up early to help clean up things and then headed home to shower and sleep some more before my mom woke me up to take me to her newly formed acupuncture clinic in which she made me be the front desk receptionist for the afternoon lol. Good thing I brought my laptop or I wouldn’t have done anything for the 4 hours I was there except tell like 5 patients to sign in and wait for the doctor! My dad picked me up from the clinic and drove me back home to help jump start my car (it ran out of batteries while I was in LA). I hung out with him for awhile until my car started working again and then I got ready to go to Sanjna’s grad party. It was really awkward because me and my other YBK editors were suppose to give a speech for her, but we ended up arriving late because of Indian Standard Time and so we missed our queue; however, we got to speak towards the end of the speeches even though it was awkward. The grad venue was super nice and the food and music were also very good! I ended up leaving early with Kiki and Evelyn. Kiki drove me back to my place (she’s actually a pretty good driver even though she just recently got her license!), and I pretty much loafed around the rest of the night. Thanks for reading! Wedding day! My cousin’s wedding was today so I actually woke up earlier than I usually do in order to get ready. Pretty much everyone on my Dad’s side of the family was up and about getting ready or eating dim sum on the table; it was pretty chaotic and the weather was freakin’ hot. I felt especially bad for my brother because he pretty much chose to dress in all-black everything haha. Once we were ready, my brother and I picked up Barbara and Kevin’s friend and then headed to Soquel for the wedding. Luckily the weather in Soquel was much cooler than in San Jose and everything seemed perfect for the wedding. All the wedding decor and the ceremony itself was really cute. After exchanging vows and kissing the bride, we had dinner (which was 100% organic). Although the food wasn’t as good as the food at the wedding rehearsal dinner, it was still delicious! Following the dinner came toasts, dancing, and cake cutting. The cake was a mix between carrot cake and red velvet which tasted interesting! We left the wedding a bit early in order to beat traffic; however, we ran into traffic regardless so my brother ended up speeding through this windy back road which was pretty intense. My brother dropped me off at Derek’s house to sleepover since Derek is leaving to Taiwan tomorrow and I said a good bye to my brother and Barbara as they headed back down to SoCal for summer classes. Thanks for reading!
